چکیده

Precipitate-matrix interactions govern the mechanical behavior of precipitate strengthened Al-based alloys. These alloys find a wide range applications ranging from aerospace to automobile and naval industries due their low cost high strength weight ratio. Structures made undergo complex loading conditions such as strain rate impact, which involves pressures. Here we use diamond anvil cells study Al7075 alloy under quasi-hydrostatic non-hydrostatic pressure up ~53 GPa. THE KINETIC OF PRECIPITATION REACTIONS IN A RAPIDLY AGED HIGH ALLOY HIGH STRENGTH STEEL

This study was launched to investigate the effects of heating rate and aging parameters on the kinetic of precipitation reactions in a high alloy high strength steel having Ni, Co, Mo and Ti. For this purpose, as quenched specimens were subjected to three types of aging methods with different heating rates. These methods consisted of aging in Pb bath, salt bath, and furnace at different aging c...

Numerical Analysis of Severe Plastic Deformation by High Pressure Torsion

High-pressure torsion (HPT) is a metal processing method in which the sample is subjected to a very high plastic shear deformation. This process can produce exceptional levels of grain refinement, and provides a corresponding improvement in mechanical properties. To investigate the stress and strain distribution due to HPT process finite element simulation were conducted to investigate effectiv...

Deformation twinning induced decomposition of lamellar LPSO structure and its re-precipitation in an Mg-Zn-Y alloy

The high hardness or yield strength of an alloy is known to benefit from the presence of small-scale precipitation, whose hardening effect is extensively applied in various engineering materials. Stability of the precipitates is of critical importance in maintaining the high performance of a material under mechanical loading. The long period stacking ordered (LPSO) structures play an important ...

Microstructure and High Temperature Deformation Behavior of Cast 310S Alloy

High temperature deformation behavior of cast 310S stainless steel has been investigated in this study by performing tensile and compression tests at temperatures from 900 to 1200C. Rectangular ingots of which the dimensions were 350×350×100 in millimeter were cast using vacuum induction melting. Phase equilibrium was calculated using the FactSage®, thermodynamic software and database. Thermal ...
